(Korean to English - Patent Automatic Translation) Service is a real-time machine translation service developed by KIPI in cooperation with Sirius soft, a machine translation engine provider.
This service provides you with full texts of Korean patents and utility models in English through the English interface of KIPIRS.

Although KIPRIS is a free of charge service, this translation service within KIPRIS is provided as commercial service in order to preserve the engine provider's initial development investment and ongoing maintenance costs. All KIPRIS, except for K2E-PAT Service, will be consistently offered free of charge.

  • There are two kinds of service fee, one is "Pay Per View"- pay per document, and the other is "Flat Fee"- use freely for a certain period of time.
  • Users can easily obtain patent information such as bibliographic data, abstract, description, claims, drawings without opening another window.
  • Both original and translated documents are presented in paragraph by paragraph format for the easy comparison of two languages.
  • The translated documents can be downloaded and saved onto your computer as PDF files.
